Juneau Residence

Situated on the Juneau coast of Alaska, this earth-sheltered house is designed along passive solar principles. Facing views of three volcanoes and the sea, its surrounding earthwork is bermed to deflect the cold Alaskan winds. The building itself is oriented to absorb heat naturally and allow natural light to flow in abundantly.
